James Brown - JB - is the Host of The NFL Today on CBS, and “INSIDE THE NFL” on Showtime. Prior to returning to CBS Sports where he got his start in network television, he co-hosted “FOX NFL Sunday” on FOX for 12 years. Recently he was blessed to be named Special Correspondent for CBS News, contributing to various news programs including “60 Minutes”. Throughout his career he has earned numerous awards, including three Emmy Awards for Outstanding Studio Host and he was named outstanding studio host of the decade by Sports Illustrated.com for his work at FOX, CBS, HBO and Showtime.

In 1974, James asked the Lord into his heart after realizing that success by the world’s standards was a pretty empty feeling. That began a 10 to 12 year search before landing in a good Word-based church, Rhema Christian Center Church, where he has been since 1986. James has been a Minister since 2002 and on April 19, 2009, he became an Ordained Minister. His wife, Evangelist Dorothy Brown is on the ministerial staff at Rhema as well. She teaches the Tabernacle of Moses at Rhema’s Givens Bible College.
He has been blessed to minister at numerous churches and Men’s Conferences around the country. James has also been blessed to appear on several Christian network television shows, such as Praise the Lord (PTL), Hour of Power and the 700 Club.
In September 2009, James’ first co-authored book entitled, Role of a Lifetime: Reflections on Faith, Family and Significant Living, with Nathan Whitaker, was released. In his memoir, James relays how he found the role he was meant to play, highlighting both the good and bad decisions along the way, teaching readers how to discover life’s purpose for themselves.
James’s daughter Katrina and her husband John, blessed James and his family with three beautiful granddaughters, Kaela, Jordyn and Aniya.
