Rev. Jesse Peterson, a devout Christian, found in his late thirties that his life had rapidly slid downhill into a life of welfare, drug abuse, promiscuous sex and confusion. At the age of thirty-eight he entered his “prayer closet”, came to be still and know God and instantly his life changed forever. He found the original cause of his problems was not the white man, as Jesse Jackson and Louis Farrakhan types had led him to believe, but he saw the deep-seated anger and resentments he harbored towards his parents , after growing up without his father.
Now that Peterson was no longer spiritually blind and could see, he understood how to overcome his anger and find forgiveness in his heart. Rev. Peterson found salvation and this life-changing experience was the catalyst that led him to become wholly committed to helping others find this same freedom. This led him to found BOND in February of 1990.
